Welcome
back, I hope you all had a restful half-term break. The final
countdown continues and you are now almost at the finishing
line. This last part of your course is about completion and
achievement. We are ambitious for you and want you to meet your
Career Ready Standard stretch and challenge grade. Attend all
your lessons and exams, work with your LDC, tutor and teachers to
ensure you complete your work and progress on to the next level of
your course at the college, your dream job and career or on the
University in 2017/18.
It
is important to remain focused and committed this month. We are
here to support, visit the ILT Centre and Library, where staff are
available to help you with assignments. If you are experiencing
hardship or other barriers that are affecting your chances of
completing your studies, please speak to your Learner Development
Coach or Course Tutor. We will work alongside you to remove
these obstacles and make sure you complete your studies with the best
outcome.

Exams -
with exams in full swing, LDCs will be looking at exam tips and
revision technique. Learners will discuss their best strategies for
revision and will look at ways to maximise performance in exams. This
will include things like getting putting together a revision
timetable, getting a good night’s sleep and eating a proper
breakfast.
Chuka Umunna, MP for Streatham was due to visit the College today, Monday 5th
June, however, due to the tragic incident in London Bridge on
Saturday he has had to cancel. Chuka is a keen supporter of the
college and a regular visitor and his office have confirmed that he
will reschedule.
The Tutorial is a safe place for learners to discuss any concerns they have
regarding this and other recent incidents. LDCs are available to have
supportive conversations with learners who may be upset or anxious
about these events.
