It is important we all are aware of the contribution made by black people to enrich the cultural diversity of our Lambeth College learning community.
Lambeth College Black History Page
Black History Month is opportunity to mainly recognise and celebrate the significant role that Africa and its Diaspora have played in the world civilisation since the beginning of time.
It is because these contributions are often omitted or distorted why this month is dedicated to the valuing of past and present achievements. Knowing something about your past, culture can instil a sense of pride, belonging and self-belief. Black History Month in my view provides us all with an opportunity to reflect on cultural differences and that which unites us all – the human race.
There are events and activities taking place in the month of October that will be of interest to staff and learners. If you would like to take a group on a visit to any of these events and require funding – please speak to a Tutorial Learning Coach Coordinator.
