"The aim of the Government initiative Prevent WRAP is to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism."
"Colleges have an important role to play in Prevent, particularly in ensuring balanced debate as well as freedom of speech. They also have a clear responsibility to exercise their duty of care and to protect the welfare of their students. Staff can identify and offer support to students who may be drawn into extremism."
As a College we have a responsibility to implement policies, procedures, training as appropriate and engage with the Channel programme to support any staff or learners vulnerable to radicalisation. A policy on Radicalisation and Extremism is being implemented and the college has been working with PREVENT on this agenda to train staff and support learners.
