The Diploma in Professional Cookery is for anyone who works or wants to work as a chef in the catering and hospitality sector.  It is ideal for learners coming straight from school who wish to seek a career in this industry.  It is also ideal for those chefs in industry who would like to continue or refresh their knowledge by undertaking topics within the qualification.

Level 2 Diploma in Hospitality Food and Beverage Service will prepare learners for employment in the hospitality industry at all levels and in roles that include; Waiter / Host / Barista and many more.

The course covers the make up of the hospitality industry, health and safety elements, working as a team, preparing to serve food and drinks, and a large emphasis on customer service. 

The knowledge based elements of the course will be evidenced through short answer tests. The course also has a large emphasis on performance evidence, this will be achieved in our own state of the art facilities (restaurant, bar and kitchen); The Restaurant SW4, alongside local employers (some units will be supported by a local nightclub bar Inferno’s) and in your own workplaces.   

As with many vocational courses we will be striving to get out on as many trips and visits as possible. These will include visits to local food markets, larger food festivals, hospitality events, industry leading restaurants & bars, and most importantly local hospitality employers. This will be supported by guest speakers from local and national businesses.
